About Me
Ojo Emmanuel Ayodele is a versatile filmmaker and ECOWAS Ambassador with a passion for storytelling that transcends cultural boundaries.
Ojo Emmanuel Ayodele, whose presence in Nollywood dates back to 2012, initially found himself behind the scenes, interacting with friends in both English and Yoruba movie circles. Over the years, his apartment became a hub for filmmakers, leading to his eventual foray into acting. Makanaki has been featured in several newspaper publications, where he has shared his vision for the industry. In an interview on January 20, 2024, he expressed his plans to continue contributing to Nollywood while impacting the youth in general. Speaking at a recent event where he was presented the National Outstanding Leadership Award of Excellence as an Ambassador of Hope to Nigerian Youths by the Congress of Nigerian Youth, Makanaki said he plans to set up a platform where anyone involved in production—whether up-and-coming or established—are treated and rewarded fairly without any bias, thereby creating a more inclusive and thriving future for the industry. He emphasized that Nollywood, being a good investment, was in need of more investors to bring about its profitable potential. Makanaki, who has acted in films such as ‘Ega’, ‘Antecedent’, and produced his own movie titled ‘Ojay Makanaki’, stated that he owed his filmmaking inspiration to Kayode Adebayo, aka Kay Alubarika.
